Here are some reasons that will convince any glitter lover that plastic free glitter is always the best option.

  • Plastic-free Glitter Uses Only Natural Materials

Pioneering companies like Bioglitter are launching very unique products, they intend to remove all plastics from glitter and help in the huge micro-plastics issue that is damaging our environment. This also provides glitter fans with an alternative to standard plastic-based glitter. The outcome is good for both the planet and glitter fans.

  • Plant-based Glitter has Proven to Be Biodegradable

Bioglitter offers the only type of glitter that has passed the fresh water test, which is essential to prove its biodegradability in the natural environment. It is made out of special cellulose derived from eucalyptus trees.

  • Bio-glitter Has the Same Practical Benefits of Standard Glitter

It lasts the same as conventional plastic-based glitter on shelf, but when it gets in contact with the natural environment, it will degrade like ordinary leaves. It is also as durable as regular glitter on the consumer’s skin; it will not come off in the middle of the fun.

  • Plastic-free Glitter Is More Compatible with Other Cosmetics

Consumers report that plastic free glitter feels softer on their skin and this may be due to the fact that Bioglitter uses only nature-derived materials. In addition to this, the plant based glitter interacts better with other ingredients used in the cosmetics industry.

  • The Compatibility of the Naturally Biodegradable Glitter

The two main products Bioglitter has to offer are very compatible with most solvents available. For the formulator who is interested in the after effects of this glitter, it is important to know that;

1. Bioglitter Sparkle

It is compatible and has good resistance with the following solvents:

  • Water*, alkali (<9pH), acid (>pH4), carbomer*, silicone oil, mineral oil, coconut oil, olive oil, palm oil. (*) Some colors may bleed

Is not compatible with the following chemicals:

  • Ethyl acetate, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone (solvent based nail varnish)

2. Bioglitter Pure

Since it is 100% aluminum free, it is very compatible with all the solvents shown above. It also complies with all micro-plastic legislation and it meets the FDA requirements for use on lips.

The only distributors authorized to sell the Bioglitter products in the US are Blue Sun International and Today Glitter. Other companies may claim they sell biodegradable glitters, but they are not naturally biodegradable. All the great compatibility of the Bioglitter products results from their manufacturing, which makes Bioglitter Sparkle and Bioglitter Pure suitable for many applications.
