Makeup for Different Skin Types

Let’s start with the basics; makeup foundations. Basically, there are two types of foundations: liquid or powder foundation. It will depend on the consumer’s skin to identify which one is better for them. Let’s take a closer look at what their characteristics are:

Liquid foundation: This foundation works better for dry skin. It provides consumers with a fresher look and the impression that their skin is more humid.

It works better than powder foundation at covering fine lines and wrinkles. This is great for dry skin since these issues tend to be more evident on this type of skin. Other benefits include:

  • Liquid provides the skin with a protective coating
  • It is heavier than powder, tends to remain more on the skin
  • It helps to maintain moisture in dry environments

Powder foundation: In foundations, this is the best makeup for sensitive skin. But, it also works great for oily and acne prone skin types. Here are the reasons why:

  • Powder does not block pores, which helps the skin to breathe
  • It is great to absorb oil, which also helps acne
  • It decreases shine accumulated throughout the day

In the case of normal skin, both are great choices. However, consumers should remember what each foundation is good for, its main purposes:

  • Reducing shine for oily and sensitive skin
  • Covering up lines for dry skin

Ingredients for Each Type of Skin

Formulators use many ingredients to create specific formulas. For instance, they use emollient oils, humectants, emulsifiers, and sensory modifiers to create the best makeup for sensitive skin in foundations. They also have special formulas to protect sensitive skin and non-irritant products for acne prone types of skin.

The new ingredients that formulators are using these days are butter powders. Our Butterpowder line takes advantage of the different distributions of fatty acids and coat substrates like Mica or Kaolin. Our special coating process provides great textures for:
